Via Garibaldi

The old name of via Garibaldi was via "Doragrossa" long ago a tortuous medieval street, afterwards straightened as the third axis of the city. The name "Doragrossa" can be traced back to the "Doire" canals of water flowing in the middle of the street. Opening some special dykes, water flooded out of the "Doire" cleaning up the street from the garbage.

You sure have one amazing city there. And an interesting note about an early garbage removal system.
