La Manifacture des tabacs, fut realisée sur commande de l'Etat de Savoie (1759-1768) pour augmenter la production de tabac.Cette usine à donné du travail à une main d'oeuvre surtout fémmine, les "Tabacchine". En 1875 c'était la plus grande usine de la ville avec 2500 emplyées. Elle a été fermée en 1996.

Lovely photos Livio, they have a bit of a sad feel to them, with the factory being deserted, especially the photo of the shoe and the broken glass...will they renovate this building?

I love this montage. A very real compilation of the good the bad and the ugly, just as life is.
I just reread and realized 2500 employees in 1875??? That is amazing. I love the red door and athe shoes. Haunting images but so welll done.
