Around Torino - The Abbeys.
Alpine varying of Francigena way crosses the Alps through the high Susa valley, and passes through Novalesa Abbey and Saint Antonio di Ranverso Abbey for to reach Torino and to rejoin with principale francigena way .(Wikipedia) Precettoria of Ranverso had been founded by Umberto III of Savoia in the XII century, beside the abbey was constructed also the hostel for infirm pilgrims entrusted to the Saint Antonio Hospital Monks. It's a magnificent route for mtb cyclers, easy ,flat and undiscussed historical valuable road.
La variante alpina della via Francigena attraversa le Alpi all'altezza della Val di Susa, e passa dall'Abbazia di Novalesa e dall'Abbazia di Sant'Antonio di Ranverso per raggiungere Torino e ricollegarsi con il tragitto principale.(Wikipedia)LaPrecettoria di Ranverso fu fondata da Umberto III di Savoia nel XIIsec. Affianco alla Abbazia fu costruito l'ospizio per pellegrini infermi affidato ai monaci Ospedalieri di S.Antonio.
E' un magnifico percorso per ciclisti di mtb, facile pianeggiante e di indiscusso valore storico.

As always you have done a superb job with the photos and the post. I do very much enjoy stoping by to see your photos, I'd show them to my wife but she hates the idea that it will have to be a couple more years before we get back to Italy. We both love your country very much. We love the scenery, the food, the wine and most especially we always find the people so very nice.

Brrrrrrrrr... I can feel the cold mist, from your photos. But then, they have been riding a while and are warm from that, I'm sure.
And I showed the old cars to my husband. :-) He has a 1930 American Model A Ford... 5 window coupe, with a rumble seat.
